Abstract

Appreciative inquiry (A() is an approach aimed at unleashing positive organizational change and group-community development. Since the 1980s, AI has been used to bring about collaborative change and strengthen change grounded in the strengths of communities and organizations around the world. It focuses on what is working well (appreciative) by engaging people by asking questions and telling stories (inquiry), and this change of focus towards the positive generates life within the organization / group / community / and creates the conditions to advance and achieve goals. The premise is simple: every human system has something that works correctly - the things that give it life, when it is vital, effective and successful. This workshop focus on AI in higher education is designed for instructors to develop skills to facilitate and use areas such as curriculum development, team development, organizational change, and planning.
